Mapex Drums is a drum brand manufactured by KHS Musical Instrument of Taiwan. Mapex drum has been in the industry for over 18 years.

KHS Musical Instrument Co., Ltd. was founded in Taiwan in 1930 as and achieve success in the 1950's as aproducer of musical instruments. KHS is a manufacturer of large-scale musical instrument complete, such as wind instruments, percussion and fretted instruments. KHS was first established with the name Wu Wan in Taiwan in 1930 as an educational products company and changed its name to KHS in 1945. 

KHS Kung Hsue She acronym that means a company that helps schools and culture. KHS harmonica started production in 1956 and started manufacturing tools in the band years later, in 1957. KHS in 1980 as a manufacturer of musical instruments to try to create brand Jupiter for wind instruments and percussion. Jupiter is one of the top ten brands in the world's top musical instrument. In 1985 founded the company KHS Music. KHS was founded Altus Co., Ltd. for the manufacture of professional flutes in 1990, was acquired Ross Mallet Instruments in 1994.
