After removing a predicate as a drummer in the Dream Theater, Mike Portnoy admitted regret and had wanted to return. Mike Mangini, drummer for Dream Theater's new make sure it will never happen.

When Portnoy and chose to go on tour with Avenged Sevenfold, Dream Theater has chosen Mangini as a replacement. Portnoy's difficult to replace such a legendary rock music scene. But Mangini admitted that he would strive for it.

Mangini had never dreamed to replace Portnoy. For him, Portnoy is the figure of his friend and he willcontinue what he left behind his friend.

In 2011 Dream Theater began tinkering with some of the drummer to be selected, including Virgil Donati (Planet X, Ring Of Fire), Derek Roddy (Malevolent Creation, Nile, Divine Empire), Thomas Lang (John Wetton, Steve Hacket, Glenn Hughes), Peter Wildoer (James LaBrie, Pestilence, Time Requiem), Aquiles Priest (ex Angra, Hangar), Mike Mangini (Annihilator, Extreme, Steve Vai, James LaBrie) and Marco Minnemann. The whole drummer who auditioned shall bring A Nightmare To Remember (Black Clouds & Silver Linings 2009) and Spirit Carries On (Metropolis Pt. 2, Scenes From A Memory 1999). As the guitarist, John Petrucci, A Nightmare To Remember is a song terumit yan once owned by Dream Theater, anyone who mastered the song could recite the entire song Dream Theater. While Spirit Carries On is a song that is very melodic and sung in every concert mandatory Dream Theater.

With a variety of characters and style that is owned by the participants drummer who auditioned, finally 29 April 2011 Mike Mangini has been named as a replacement drummer for Dream Theater's Mike Portnoy. Drummer born 18 April 1963 is arguably the drummer multi-genre, he can play thrash, progressive, classic rock and even funk. Preoccupations other than as a musician, he was noted as an instructor in Barklee College Of Music Boston. In addition Mike Mangini had been named "World's Fastest Drummer" by Modern Drummer magazine.
